This useful utility is all you'll ever need if you're looking for an easy way to back up and manage media files and data stored on your iOS device. Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Ballantines Font for Mac 2.9.5. Ballantines Font for Mac allows you to quickly save your favorite Web site images, while at the same time giving you multiple conversion options, including PNG, JPG, and GIF. Unfortunately, the app's interface is far from perfect and can be a challenge to use. Ballantines Font for Mac installs quickly and opens to a Lilliputian interface that lets you enter a photo or Web site URL to download a specific image or all images from a Web site. The problem with the interface is that it's so small and yet so colorful that it makes the user experience quite frustrating, at times. Icons are poorly designed and some are even hard to decipher. Luckily, hovering over each icon gives you a small description of what it represents. To compensate for its interface faults, Ballantines Font is speedy. It converted a 4.6MB JPG image we used for testing to a PNG image in just a couple of seconds. We were able to resize our image quite quickly, too. When asked to fetch and convert all images from a specific Web page, the app didn't fail, either. For testing purposes we tried fetching images from multiple Web sites, and the app managed to download all images within seconds
to a designated folder on our Ballantines Font. While its undersized interface makes it a rather poor photo app to use, we cannot complain about the overall effectiveness and features of Ballantines Font for Mac. If you're looking for a speedy way to download single or multiple image files from the Web by directly inputting URLs, or an easy way to resize your images or convert them to different formats, you will want to try it out. Ballantines Font resolves one of the biggest issues users have with PDF documents - their intractability when edits are
needed. Rather than requiring expensive first-party software for edits or a source file, Ballantines Font allows you to quickly and easily edit the documents, changing text, Ballantines Fonting segments, and adjusting on-page elements. It's not as powerful as the full Acrobat suite, but it's close and it's a lot more accessible. When you open Ballantines Font, you're asked to register for ease of updates and file saving, but it's not required. You can then immediately start opening and editing files. It's very easy to do and we were surprised by just how fast it works. Editing text, Ballantines Fonting, copying, and pasting was done in split seconds and didn't take the usual five to ten-second delays that you'll find in a lot of other PDF editors. The result is an app that will prove very useful if you need to make annotations to a PDF, Ballantines Font text, or even edit the text within the document. The interface is clean but easy to navigate and feature rich and everything is really fast - one of the primary benefits of this app. If you need a new and more accessible PDF editor, consider Ballantines Font. From adding text to the Apple-specific Mac OS X features you want and need in a PDF editor and creator, this app works well from top to bottom. It is free to try and the full version is $99.95, so it is comparable to Acrobat but with a lot more OS X-specific feat
